Communication and COVID-19
Billions of people across the world have have been encouraged to socially distance themselves from one another in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, human interaction has greatly suffered thus increasing loneliness and isolationism in our society.
Hoping to be of some assistance, I have created a few short videos that provide instructions on utilizing technology to best overcome our social isolation. For viewing purposes, all videos are best viewed full screen.
Instructional videos for Email and Audio/Video Calling:
Skype and Zoom are both video calling apps. Some people also also have face time on iPhones, and WhatsApp is actually the most popular audio/video calling free phone app for androids and iPhones in the world.
Signing up for WhatsApp just requires downloading the app on your phone and your phone number becomes your username automatically. You can then contact anyone on your phone.

I've included Walmart, Target and Amazon/Whole Foods, but similar principles apply to all stores This video is almost ten minutes long and provides a flavor of all different sites while also including important things to be careful about.
Exploring the world while sitting at home:
Google Arts and Culture offers virtual tours where people can choose to explore places or museums by simply clicking or dragging their mouse on the computer screen.
I understand this maybe new for some people so I have also created five videos showing myself exploring some places around world:
The Bolshoi Theater, Moscow, Russia
The Hall of mirrors, Versailles, France
Google Arts and Culture Website
I have also included a link from the BBC which has several links inside to free webcams from a National Park in South Africa to Venice and a village in Finland. A person can click on the link and simply watch live whatever is going on over there.
I hope that these links will be helpful in providing guidance for virtual communication and social interaction. I also encourage you to feel free to share these videos with any persons who you believe may find it useful.
