Thank you, US Bancorp - E040
I have been pursuing a cause for the last two years; a cause to have the US Postal Service remove the word 'handicapped' from the verbiage used for mails sent to/from physically challenged individuals.
Today, I received confirmation from another national Bank (US Bank), who have confirmed that they shall stop using the E040 mandated ('handicapped') language “effective immediately”, on all their communications. They shall also have all their external vendors stop leveraging the language to avail the free postal benefit.
I have now convinced 2 from the largest 5 Banks in the U.S., in favor of my cause. The first bank to make the change was JPMorgan Chase in 2019. I continue to pursue this with our legislative agencies as well, to effect this change at a Federal level.

A couple of pieces of wonderful news! I was blessed to hear back from an Office in the Delaware State Legislature and the Governor's Advisory Council for Exceptional Citizens. I have learned a bit on how DE State in itself has made strides over the years when it comes to how human beings are addressed in the State regulation and look forward to their insight and advice on how to bring about this change at a Federal level.
I also heard from JPMorgan Chase and am sharing their letter here. Not only has the Company stopped using the "Free Matter for the Blind and Handicapped" stamp on their mail, the Head of Chase Accessibility Services, on being made aware of my suggestion, has decided to share this more broadly with Industry Groups she is a member of.
I am grateful to our DE State Officials, JPMorgan Chase and also all pertinent personnel for their support, action and most importantly, for taking this a step further by spreading the word!
